Meet Tasneem

Tasneem Chhadiya has proudly called Cambridge home since 2010. As the founder and Executive Director of the United Festival Organization (UFO), she has spent years bringing people together through community events, supporting local businesses, and creating opportunities for families, volunteers, and youth to connect.

Now, Tasneem is running for Ward 7 City Councillor because she believes every resident deserves to be heard. She is committed to listening first, working collaboratively, and advocating for safer neighbourhoods, stronger local businesses, more housing options, and a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Proven Track Record

Since 2018, Tasneem Chhadiya has brought people together through community events and cultural celebrations. In 2024, she founded the United Festival Organization (UFO), a non-profit dedicated to strengthening Cambridge through multicultural festivals, youth initiatives, and food distribution programs.

Her grassroots leadership has supported local businesses, engaged volunteers, and united thousands of residents across Ward 7.

A Vision for Ward 7

Cambridge has been my home since 2010, and over the years I've had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life through volunteering, community events, and the United Festival Organization. Those experiences have shown me what makes our community so special, but they've also shown me where we can do better.

I know that many residents are concerned about issues like housing affordability, homelessness, traffic, neighbourhood safety, and keeping up with our city's growth. These are real challenges that require practical solutions and a willingness to work together. As your City Councillor, I will listen to residents, work with community partners, and advocate for decisions that strengthen Ward 7 and improve everyday life.

I also believe our local businesses, parks, community spaces, and neighbourhood organizations deserve continued support. They help make Cambridge a welcoming place to live and play an important role in bringing people together. By supporting responsible growth, investing in our community, and keeping residents at the centre of every decision, we can build a Ward 7 that continues to thrive for years to come.

Most importantly, I want to be a councillor who is approachable, accessible, and accountable. You deserve to be heard. I will always take the time to listen, communicate openly, and work hard to represent the people of Ward 7 with honesty and respect.
